Allison Houtz is the Experiential Education Program Coordinator in the Education Department at Prescott College. She coordinates professional development within The Center for Nature & Place. She is a passionate, lifelong advocate for children and families. She has worked in early education at large for the past 16 years through teaching, leadership, child advocacy, parent training, and early childhood coaching. Allison is dedicated to bridging the gap between early education and mental health efforts in rural communities.

Academic Statement

I am a strength-based leader who thrives in perspective taking, actively listening, and points toward solution-based care. I believe wholeheartedly in the power of collaboration. I intentionally pay attention to the different learning styles of adults in the field and strive to communicate clearly with the educators I support. Early childhood care and learning is essential to the health of our society. At the core of my being, I believe we have a moral obligation to not only support children in this way, but we also owe it to our community and future together.
